Japanese Kimono Festival & Benefit Fund Drive

Hosted by The Rotary Club of Irvine, in partnership with the City of Irvine, Irvine Valley College and the Irvine Chamber of Commerce, the Japanese Kimono Festival & Benefit Fund Drive will be a day of celebrating the Japanese tradition of the art of kimono dressing. Proceeds of ticket sales and a silent auction will be used to provide financial relief for the victims of the devastating 2011 Japanese earthquake and tsunami, and to benefit community projects supported by the Rotary Club of Irvine. 

12:45 p.m. - Doors Open
  1:00 p.m. - Wine Reception & Silent Auction
  2:00 p.m. - Show Begins 

Nihon Waso Gakuen is a kimono dressing academy which has been in existence for forty-one years. The academy is dedicated to teaching women the graceful art of kimono dressing and to share kimono dressing in countries outside of Japan. Nihon Waso Gakuen is based in Osaka, Japan and has kimono dressing schools in twenty-one prefectures throughout Japan. "Japan's Seasons and Traditions" perferomance returns to Irvine after a twenty-year absence. Nihon Waso Gakuen has also performed in France, Italy, China, Thailand, Australia, and Canada.
