As a brand-new member of the Greater Irvine Chamber of Commerce, the Irvine Theater Company would like to extend a warm invitation to our fellow Chamber members to attend one of our upcoming performances.

Irvine Theater Company presents: Disconnected – The Stories We Stand to Lose
A festival of seven original short plays exploring what happens when technology replaces human connection.

Developed and premiered to full houses in Irvine, Disconnected examines how technology is reshaping our relationships—from dating apps and influencer culture to online gambling, family communication, elder isolation, and artificial intimacy. One of the final three plays was written entirely by AI, and audiences were invited to guess which one—with surprisingly split results.

The production also features a deliberately non-human AI avatar character whose unsettling presence raises thought-provoking questions about companionship and the boundaries between human and machine.

The show has been reimagined for Chance Theater’s intimate 40-seat venue in Anaheim, offering audiences a rare, up-close experience with bold new work designed to spark conversation long after the curtain call.

Before each performance, guests are invited to arrive early and enjoy a silent auction featuring items donated by local supporters, with winners announced after the show.

Seven performances only:  March 20, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29.
