International commerce provides benefits for many Americans\, but too often U.S. exports are shut out of foreign markets. To create a level playing field for U.S. companies and workers\, the United States is negotiating the largest trade pacts in history\, including the Trans-Pacific Partnership with 11 Asia-Pacific nations and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership with the European Union. Once concluded\, these agreements will provide American exporters with access to markets representing two-thirds of the global economy. Murphy will also discuss the push in Congress to renew Trade Promotion Authority (TPA)\, legislation needed to enter into these market-opening trade agreements.
