Prior to his appointment\, he served as vice chair of the Irvine Planning Commission\, chair of the Community Services Commission in 2016\, and as Community Services Commissioner from 2012 to 2015. Councilmember Carroll is a member of the Irvine Certified Emergency Response Team.\n\n\n\nHe also serves as the City of Irvine's representative to the Southern California Association of Governments\, the nation's largest metropolitan planning organization.
